Community

As the centre for the community the White Rose Shopping Centre is engaged in socially responsible activities designed to benefit people of all ages.

These range from our ongoing support of the leading edge educational and training facilities provided on site at the White Rose Learning Centre to socially focused events such as tea dances which provide an opportunity for visitors to meet, make friends and stay active.

The Learning Centre, which is supported by Education Leeds and Park Lane College, has, since its opening in November 2002, provided an innovative educational resource for hundreds of pupils from local schools, while helping to meet training needs for the adult community.

In addition to tea and line dancing sessions, which are provided free of charge, we open our doors early each weekday morning to let mall walkers take exercise in warm, dry and safe surroundings.

As well as these regular activities, we support our community in a number of other ways, including helping charitable causes by providing fund-raising opportunities, liaising with Leeds Ahead on community projects and working with SETPOINT West Yorkshire, an organisation involved in partnership services for education, business and the community.
