Local Jewellers promises to put a ring on it this leap year
22nd February 2012 - 29th February 2012A Leeds jeweller will give away £10,000 worth of jewellery this month as it encourages local couples to tie the knot.
H. Samuel in the White Rose promises to help hopeful romantic Leeds ladies take advantage of the leap year and pop the question on 29 February by providing them each with a special proposal ring.
The rings, which have the words “marry me” engraved inside the band and come in both male and female styles, will be given freely to the first 200 passionate punters who visit the store between 22 and 29 February.
Traditionally, 29 February is the day for ladies to ask their gentlemen to marry them. To celebrate this very special date in the romantic calendar any plucky ladies who pop the question in-store on 29 February could also win £1,000 off their wedding costs.
Karen Kershaw, store manager at H.Samuel in the White Rose, says: “We always see lots of couples getting engaged when there’s a leap year. For the very first time in H.Samuel’s 150 year history, we’re excited to be able to offer the first 200 Leap Year Leeds customers their very own proposal rings to mark the occasion. Plus anyone who is brave enough to do it in full view of White Rose shoppers could be in with the chance of winning £1,000.
