Young Fashion Designer Competition 2008

This year's Young Fashion Designer Competition, sponsored by the Yorkshire Evening Post, which searches for Yorkshire's young and talented fashion designers will be launched at the Summer Fashion Show on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May. The competition has three age categories: 9 to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 16 years of age. The closing date for the competition is 4 July 2008.
The entries will be judged by our expert panel and the finalists' designs will be made up and modelled at the Autumn Fashion
show on 27 September when the winning entry will be selected. The winner will win £500 cash, and the runner up wins £250.
The judges are looking for designs that can be made at reasonable and realistic cost using commonly available materials. In addition they will also take into account: innovation, movement, practicality, the use of textiles/materials and special features (folds, pleats, fastening, decoration).
