RAISING AWARENESS
White Rose has teamed up with Yorkshire art organisation Sand in Your Eye to mark National Self-Check Month with a powerful installation of seven nude torsos sculpted from snow and ice.
Representing the statistic that one in seven people will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, the diverse sculptures, including one male torso, highlight that the disease can affect anyone.
Created by artist and breast cancer survivor Claire Wardley, the display aims to encourage regular self-checks and early diagnosis, while her children busk on-site to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Shoppers can also find information on signs, symptoms and how to self-check through the NHS and CoppaFeel.
